During the winter, the Punjab Education Department has announced a temporary modification to the clothing / uniform for both government and private schools.

The education department has declared in a letter to the appropriate authorities that pupils should be free to wear the sweaters and jackets of their choosing without any limitations.
For January and February, a temporary relaxation has been given. Before now, schoolchildren in Punjab had to follow a particular dress code.
The choice was taken to protect the kids’ welfare, particularly in the winter, and to lessen the financial strain on parents.
Prominent specialists in the field of education have praised the resolution, noting that it is a positive move towards alleviating the severe weather patterns and tackling financial difficulties.
The Punjabi government released the school calendar for the upcoming winter break earlier this month. The notice states that the province’s pupils will have winter break from December 18, 2024, to January 1, 2024.
