New Era:

The National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) and NADRA Technologies Limited (NTL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to facilitate collaboration in biometric technology research, development, and innovation.

Today’s discussion at NADRA Headquarters signals the start of a strategic relationship aimed at developing industry-academia ties as well.

National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST):

NTL is a leading system integrator because to its signature Pakistan ID stack, which specializes in digital identity solutions. NTL has approximately twenty years of experience in the e-governance, e-passport, smart identity card, and civil registration domains, and has always delivered reliable services. Due to its notable achievements, NTL is now regarded as a national and international leader in digital transformation.

National univerity of sciences and technology is one of Pakistan’s best computer science universities, ranking 160th in the world for engineering and technology. National univerity of sciences and technology, which is dedicated to interdisciplinary higher education, research, and innovation, places a great value on fostering and bolstering relationships between business and academia. By conducting research and development in the fields of contactless biometrics and face liveness detection technologies, NUST contributes to the collaboration.

NTL applauded National univerity of sciences and technology’s innovative projects carried out under the National Software Technology Park’s (NSTP) guidance. The TrueID program is one example of this. Both parties stated a strong desire to develop this biometric application in order to improve the sophisticated services that Pakistani citizens receive, taking into account the nation’s technological advancements.

NTL expressed a wish to collaborate with National univerity of sciences and technology in order to increase its level of experience and knowledge. Additionally, National univerity of sciences and technology and NTL will work together on research and development projects involving, among other things, contactless biometrics, digital onboarding, e-KYC, facial recognition, and automated fingerprint identification systems (AFIS and ABIS).

The partnership has the potential to stimulate indigenous innovation in Pakistan pertaining to identity and biometric technologies.
