Steps:

  1. Prepare the skin. Clean the area where you want to apply the mehndi. To guarantee proper adhesion, make sure it is clear of oils, lotions, and grime.
  2. Mix Henna Paste:To make henna paste, combine henna powder with water, lemon juice, or sugar to create a smooth consistency. Allow it to sit for a few hours so that the dye can be released.
  3. Load the cone or piping bag: Load the cone or piping bag by snipping the tip and creating a small opening. Fill the cone with henna paste. Fill the piping bag and secure the end.
  4. Create an outline: Start by drawing the outline of your design. You can begin with basic forms such as circles, flowers, or paisleys. This will act as the foundation for more complex elements.
  5. Add details: To enhance the design, add features such as swirls, dots, and lines after creating a basic shape. Peacocks, flowers, foliage, and geometric patterns are all common elements.
  6. Foll in spaces: After outlining and adding embellishments, use henna to fill in empty spots for a sturdy design. This step is vital for creating a bright and vibrant mehndi pattern.
  7. Adequate Drying Time: Allow for adequate drying time before touching or applying the henna pattern. This may take upto several hours, so patience is required.
  8. Seal the design: To increase the color and longevity of mehndi, apply a mixture of lemon juice and sugar water with a cotton ball. This allows the henna to cling better to the skin and deepens the color.
  9. Avoid water for the first few hours: To allow henna to thoroughly set, keep the design dry for 4-6 hours after application. Avoid using water during this time.
  10. Scrape off dried henna: To remove extra henna after it has dried, use a dull object or your fingers to gently scrape it away. Avoid using water just after scraping.

Mehndi designs can be as simple or complex as you choose. Feel free to get creative and try out different patterns and new mehndi designs.
