The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has planned to prolong winter vacations in the province’s summer zones till January 13, 2024.

The winter holidays were originally scheduled to terminate on December 31, 2023. However, the holidays have been extended to January 7, 2024. Another extension has now been announced. The schools will now reopen on January 15, 2024, unless another extension is granted.

It is crucial to remember, however, that the extension has only been announced for primary schools, from playgroup to Class 5th. The order applies to all private and public schools.

The decision was made owing to the current weather conditions, according to the notification.

New School and College Schedules after the holidays

Furthermore, the Education Department has published altered school schedules for Middle/High and Higher Secondary Schools for the coming week.

Schools across the KPK will now open at 9:30 a.m. rather than 8:30 a.m. and end at 3:30 p.m. rather than 2:30 p.m.

“The above timing schedule of school opening and closing is for one week only, and after that, school timing will be as usual,” the School Education Department said.
